There was a time once I was convinced that the world with all its abundance belonged to the man who was cunning, greedy, self-centered and above all, egotistical. It had to be for it was the only way I could explain to myself why I failed so miserably at everything I tried.
As a young child I heard it said many times: "There is no honest millionaire!". I knew this to be so because I wasn't a millionaire. In my mind I wasn't a millionaire because I wasn't dishonest or shrewed or devious..... In my mind it explained why I was homeless, had no job, no friends, no money and least of all, no luck.
One day while sitting on a sidewalk contemplating whether I should continue living or just end it, I suddenly realized a cute, small dog licking my hand. I looked up and gazed into the smiling eyes of a woman. Although the sun partially blinded me, I could tell she was well dressed and well groomed.
She started a conversation with me. She asked me my name, where I came from and what I was doing. After a brief explanation she uttered: "My husband owns a restaurant just walking distance from where you are now. Go see him and tell him I sent you and that he needs to give you a job. But first let's get you cleaned up a bit."
She reached out her hand towards me. Here smile intensified. Only after I stood up and faced her did I notice how beautiful she really was. That moment my life changed completely. Every struggle, every suffering and every lonely moment I had experienced for the past year dropped right off me at that moment.
My angel of rescue was extremely rich. She wasn't cunning or shrewed or dishonest. She was caring, loving, giving, compassionate, understanding and kind. I realized then that a real millionaire is rich in the heart.
Since that faithful day I've been blessed more times than I can count. I continue to be blessed every single day, day in and day out, without end. I have come to realize that I too am a millionaire at heart and that I need to give back, unselfishly, to others equally deserving of the abundance life has to offer.
That's why this website exists. I want to share with you my "life's story". In doing so I sincerely hope that the lessons I learned along the way are a stepping stone of inspiration and motivation to create a life of abundance for yourself.
It's also the reason why this site is called: "The Genie In You!" I truly believe, no, I know for sure, that each and everyone of us has a Genie inside just waiting to burst out. Don't die with your song still in you. I want to inspire and motivate you to share your song with the world, loud and clear.
